The Glide Foundation has partnered with legendary investor Warren Buffett to donate the fee for a lunch with him from his eBay “Power Lunch with Warren Buffett” auctions to their organization. He has raised over $32 million for the charity by sharing his lunch and his investment wisdom with the winning bidder. The bids rose quickly over time and by 2019, the lunch auction had a winning record bid of at an eye popping $4,567,888. The ‘Lunch with Buffett’ auction winners dine with Mr. Buffett at New York’s Smith and Wollensky steak house. The restaurant itself also donates a minimum of $10,000 to the charitable foundation just for the privilege to host the auction lunch every year.
