There are two primary paths to make money in the stock market. One is to find the companies that have the potential for growth and market dominance, then buy them and ride their trends to the upside either through trend trading or investing. The other is to buy and hold a stock market index for ten or more years or to trend trade an index to the upside to create big wins or small losses over the long term. If you invest in or trade a stock market index it will rise as the index rotates the biggest winning stocks in and rotates the losing stocks out based on its own system of component selection over the long term.
