When was Roblox made? The beta version of what would become known as Roblox was created by the co-founders David Baszucki and Erik Cassel and was originally called DynaBlocks. Mr. Baszucki started the testing of the first demos for the game in 2004. In 2005, the company then changed its name to Roblox before it was officially launched to the public on September 1, 2006 as the Roblox release date. [1]

The Roblox player count is currently 199 million. This is the amount of total monthly active Roblox users in 2021, according to RTrack estimates. Roblox has had huge growth over the past 18 months adding 80 million users last year in 2020. [2]

How much is Roblox worth? The Roblox IPO was released onto the stock exchange in March of 2021 taking the company public. The current market capitalization of the company is $47 billion based on the stock price of $82.50 and the total share float outstanding.

How much money does Roblox make? Even with Roblox revenue of $1.14 billion it still operates at a loss, losing $284.55 million in EBITDA over the past year.

Currently Roblox in 2021 is focused on building its platform along with continuing user and developer growth so it spends its capital on payouts to game creators and platform development, operating at a loss. From a fundamental investment perspective Roblox is a speculation on future positive earnings and growth. From a technical standpoint this could be a good stock to trade swings and trends in as it made a new all-time high on Friday. This is one stock that could be a big part of the future of online gaming and worth keeping an eye on.
